ABOUT DU JAT

DU JAT is a common admission exam after the completion of class 12 for admission to Delhi University Colleges that offer Bachelor of Management Studies(BMS)and 8 Delhi University colleges that offer BBA(FIA)programs and Business Economics program.


ELIGIBILITY

Candidates belonging to general category must have secured at least 60%in class 12.

Candidates belonging to SC,CW,PwD categories should have attained a minimum of 55% in class 12.

Candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes must have scored at least 50% score.

This aggregate should be based on the candidate’s score in 4 papers-English, Mathematics and 2 other subjects approved by Delhi University. Candidate’s awaiting Class 12 results can also apply.

DU JAT 2020 PATTERN

The DU JAT exam paper comprises 100 multiple-choice questions carrying 4 marks each. For every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted.Some details of the exam are---

DU JAT SYLLABUS

DU JAT is divided into four sections:-Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Analytical Ability, General English, Business and General Awareness.

QUANTITATIVE ABILITY---Numbers, Profit and loss, Fractions and decimals, Ratio and proportion, Graphs and Pie chart.

REASONING AND ANALYTICAL ABILITY---Verbal analogy, Word Sequence, Terms and Prepositions, Time Sequence, Number Series, Direction and distance, Verbal Reasoning, Missing characters.

GENERAL ENGLISH---Reading Comprehension, Synonyms and Antonyms, Fill in the blanks.

GENERAL AWARENESS---Geography, Economics, History, Politics, Current Affairs, Science, Computers etc.


DU JAT SELECTION PROCESS

Candidates need to check below the step-by-step selection process for DUJAT 2020.


Fill the application form-Register for DUJAT 2020 on Delhi University’s official website and fill the application form with personal and academic details. Opt for your preferred course and college. Upload documents and make online payment. The application fees across different categories is as follows---1.General/OBC/CW Category-Rs.750.

2.SC/ST/PwD/ESW Category-Rs.300


Download DU JAT Admit Card-Download DU JAT admit card by entering form number and date of birth. Candidates must remember that the admit card is an important document that needs to be carried to the examination centre.


Appear for DU JAT exam- DUJAT 2020 will be a 2-hour test where candidates will be asked questions from Quantitative Aptitude, Analytical and Logical Reasoning, General English, Business and General Awareness.


Check DU JAT Result-Candidates will be able to check their results on the official website of Delhi University. Based on the score got in the entrance exam and the marks of class 12, a merit list of qualified candidates will be prepared. The weightage for both the exams are given below----1.Entrance Test---65%

2.Qualifying Examination---35%


Attend DU JAT counselling-The counselling process may be conducted in multiple rounds in accordance with the availability of seats.


HOW TO CRACK DU JAT 2020 

DU JAT 2020 is conducted by Delhi University for admission to BMS/BBA.

DU JAT will be conducted between June 2-9 in online mode. The exam consists of 100 objective-type questions to be completed in 2 hours. There are 4 sections which consist of 25 questions each. The 4 sections are-

1.Quantitative ability

2.General English

3.Business and General Awareness

4.Reasoning and Analytical ability

The paper will be available in only English language. The paper will be of 400 marks, for every correct answer you will get 4 marks. There is also negative marking where for every incorrect response you lose 1 mark. DU JAT is conducted once every year in the month of June/July.


HOW TO PREPARE FOR DU JAT 2020


TIME MANAGEMENT

DU JAT has 4 sections so candidates should prepare accordingly giving time to all the sections. So they should study 3-4 hours regularly every day. They should read newspapers like The Hindu or The Indian Express daily for an hour. They should be thorough with the DU JAT exam pattern for getting good marks. Candidates should give extra time to sections in which they are weak but firstly should finish their sections in which they are confident. They should solve mock tests everyday.


Things to avoid while preparing for DU JAT 2020

1.Candidates should not try the paper without prior practice in mock tests or previous year’s papers.

2.Candidates should not mug up formulas but try to understand the concept.

3.Candidates should not take English section very lightly. They should put more efforts in it and try to master it as well.

4.Candidates should not solve mock tests without setting a time limit. 

5.Candidates should practice new topics beforehand around three months before the exam.

6.Candidates should plan an exam strategy.

7.They should not mark the answers randomly.

8.Time must be well managed.
