How many Hours should a 10th student study?

CBSE CLASS 10 Published on 01 December 2020

10th boards are organized and conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). CBSE is a national board and conducts various entrance examinations for arts, medical and engineering fields. 10th boards are very important as they are required in applying to government colleges and government jobs. In this article, we will discuss about how many hours should a 10th class student study overall.

Students are often asked to study hard in order to gain good marks in 10th class. These marks are also required to apply for government documents like a passport or a driving license. This is the reason why scoring good marks in 10th and 12th class are necessary for the student.

While studying in class 10th, students ponder upon a question i.e. how many hours should a 10th class student study? Usually, when the board exams are approaching, it is likely that students can develop stress within their minds. They are stressed about completing the syllabus and getting good marks. But the most important thing that has to be kept in mind is not to be stressed about exams. The more you are stressed, the more concentration and focus you will lose.

A student should study for 7 – 10 hours a day. If you devote more time, it is possible that you might get exhausted. Therefore, 7 – 10 hours is the maximum time you must devote to your studies.

Another question that arises is; how many hours should a 10th class student sleep? Generally, students are advised to study more and sleep less during the time of exams. But it should not be like this. We must not ask students to sleep less as this might result in bad health of the students.

While preparing for board exams, a student needs energy and good nutrition. A student must sleep 7 – 8 hours daily. This will help the student in studying with full concentration. Students must learn to manage their time in terms of study and sleep. Sleep is equally important as studies are. Therefore, 7 hours of sleep is must for the students in order to prepare for the board exam.

Now, if the student is from the ICSE board then there will be differences in the hours of studying. ICSE board is complex as compared to the CBSE board. There is a detailed explanation of the subjects and this board focuses on developing analytical and practical skills which might be tiresome and boring for the students.

Students of the ICSE board often wonder; how many hours should I study in class 10th ICSE board? Since the ICSE board is a bit more complex than CBSE, so it is advised to study for at-least 10 – 12 hours. A student must put in effort and study hard in order to achieve good marks.

However, it is advised to take short breaks in between so that you are not exhausted from studying. Studying for a long time might inculcate some stress and pressure resulting in less concentration and focus. Therefore, you must take short breaks in between and study for 10 – 12 hours per day.
