Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) examination to recruit candidates for various posts in the Indian Railways. Exam Pattern


The RRB NTPC 2023 exam will be conducted in two stages - Computer Based Test (CBT) 1 and CBT 2. The first stage will consist of objective type questions, while the second stage will have both objective and descriptive type questions.


CBT 1 will have questions from three sections - General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. There will be a total of 100 questions, and the time duration for the exam will be 90 minutes.


CBT 2 will have questions from the same three sections, along with a descriptive paper. The time duration for the exam will be 3 hours.


Dates Notification and Exam Date


The official notification for RRB NTPC 2023 is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2023. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website of the respective RRB for the notification. The exam dates will be announced in the notification.


Posts Eligibility


The eligibility criteria for RRB NTPC 2023 varies for different posts. The following are the eligibility criteria for some of the posts that will be filled through RRB NTPC 2023.


  1. Junior Clerk cum Typist - Candidates should have passed 12th standard or its equivalent examination, and they should have a typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.
  2. Accounts Clerk cum Typist - Candidates should have passed 12th standard or its equivalent examination, and they should have a typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.
  3. Junior Time Keeper - Candidates should have passed 12th standard or its equivalent examination, and they should have a typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.
  4. Trains Clerk - Candidates should have passed 12th standard or its equivalent examination.
  5. Commercial cum Ticket Clerk - Candidates should have passed 12th standard or its equivalent examination.
  6. Traffic Assistant - Candidates should have a degree from a recognized university or its equivalent.
  7. Goods Guard - Candidates should have a degree from a recognized university or its equivalent.
  8. Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk - Candidates should have a degree from a recognized university or its equivalent.
