Data Communication
Data communication is the active process of transporting data from one point to another. Networks are communication system designed to convey information from a point of origin to a point of destination. Note that they are communication system, not computer system. The operative word is communication, the transfer of information from one device to another.Networks come in two flavors – local as in local area network, which cover a small area and have a finite, relatively small, number of users and global or long-haul, which cover long distance and have an unlimited number of users. Telephone networks are long network. It refers to the transmission of the digital signals over a communication channel between the transmitter and receiver computers. Communication is possible only with wired and wireless connectivity of the computers with each other.

High Performance Computer Architecture
In computer engineering, computer architecture is a set of rules and methods that describe the functionality, organization, and implementation ofcomputer systems. Some definitions of architecturedefine it as describing the capabilities and programming model of a computer but not a particular implementation.

Low Power VLSI Circuits & Systems
VLSI's design tools included not only design entry and simulation but eventually also cell-based routing (chip compiler), a datapath compiler, SRAMand ROM compilers, and a state machine compiler. The tools were an integrated design solution for IC design and not just point tools, or more general purpose system tools. A designer could edit transistor-level polygons and/or logic schematics, then run DRC and LVS, extract parasitics from the layout and run Spice simulation, then back-annotate the timing or gate size changes into the logic schematic database. Characterization tools were integrated to generate FrameMaker Data Sheets for Libraries. VLSI eventually spun off the CAD and Library operation into Compass Design Automation but it never reached IPO before it was purchased by Avanti Corp.
