This is one of Tough section for most of students preparing for SSC CGL Exam in 2020.

Because some of students are not from English background & some them are from English but they don't like to study because it is just hard to read as subject.

If you know what are important topics then you will prepare those topics and your chances to score in Exam will be high & you will not prepare topics which doesn't / less important in Exam.


As we all know the importance of English language section in Tier 1 & Tier 2 Exam of CGL it covers around 250 Marks in total.


In SSC CGL - English Language section syllabus divided in 3 parts

(i) Grammar based questions

(ii) Vocabulary based questions

(iii) Reading Comprehension based questions


From Reading Comprehension you will get 5 questions sure shot for 10 marks in CGL Tier 1 Exam.


In vocabulary part synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms & phrases, one word substitution, odd word out, phrasal verbs, cloze test are very important topics & you can expect 10-12 questions from vocabulary part.


In Grammar part Tier 1 spotting errors, sentence correction, fill in blanks, para jumbles, prepositions, nouns, Articles, Active voice & passive voice, Direct speech & indirect speech are important topics & you can expect 8-10 questions which are about 16-20 marks in Tier 1 Exam.
