Basic arithmetic includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. This is elementary school mathematics, so it is very essential to master these concepts.

In case of doing multiplication, you do not need to memorize the multiplication tables from 1 to 100 or further. You just have to understand the underlying concept of how we operate multiplication . Multiplying 3 and 4 is actually adding 3 together 4 times:

  1. Similarl;y we can understand the addition process. Adding 2 and 5 is like taking a pile of 2 apples and putting 5 more in to get a total of 7.

Counting Apples

This may seem simple, but knowing the meaning of basic arithmetic will be extremely helpful throughout algebra.

So make sure to think through these four operations, even if you have to think in terms of apples!
