The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) refers to a standardized terminology under the jurisdiction of the Department of Home Affairs of seven security forces in India. These

are the Assam Rifles (AR), CRPF, Border Security Force (BSF), CISF, National Security Guard (NSG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). In this article we have covered all about the UPSC CAPF Exam guide that one needs to know.


UPSC CAPF Exam Date:


The UPSC CAPF examination is a very important examination for the applicants who are training to join the security forces. The applicants need a focused full year training for this test. It requires physical training and studies. The applicants need the timeline of the test case to prepare a clear plan for the UPSC CAPF exam


The exam is supposed to be conducted on August 09, 2020, in compliance with the examination rules released in India's Gazette by the Department of Home Affairs. Their entry will be strictly conditional at all levels of the exam subject to fulfillment of the specified eligibility criteria.

UPSC CAPF 2020 Eligibility Criteria:


  1. Nationality – No individual who is not a resident of India should be appointed or hired according to these Laws, except with the permission of the Central Government signified in writing. Given that the promotion, enrollment or employment of a recipient of Nepal or Bhutan under such Rules is not debarred by anything in these laws.


  1. Sex – Both men and women applicants are eligible for Assistant Commanders position appointments.


  1. Educational Qualification – Here are some other educational qualifications for the candidates to apply for CAPF exam:


  1. Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree from a government-recognized institution as part of UPSC CAPF Eligibility Requirements. The Institution should be integrated into India through a Central or State Legislature Act.


  1. Also, other educational institutions founded by Parliament's Act or approved to be a university under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 are necessary.


  1. Those applicants who participated in the qualifying exam and have not obtained their results may also apply for CAPF Test. However, it must be borne in mind that admissions will be provisional before the applicant provides proof of passing the exam after qualifying the CAPF entrance test.


  1. Age Limit:


  1. The applicant must be at least 20 years old . The applicant's maximum age should be 25 years. The maximum age for applicants contributing to the SC / ST group up to a maximum of five years may, therefore, be relaxed.


  1. It could be extended up to a limit of three years for many other Backward Class applicants.


  1. The person wishing to apply for CAPF 2020 must be an Indian resident. Applicants for the CAPF exam maybe both female and male. There are various medical requirements set by UPSC to apply for the required post through UPSC CAPF 2020. 


  1. Candidates who have been previously selected based on the CAPF exam cannot apply for the examination.


UPSC CAPF 2020 Vacancy:


The CAPF notification 2020 will be issued by the Union Public Service Commission. There are 398 total vacancies issued in the Central Armed Police Forces this year for Assistant Commandant (ACs) Positions.


CAPF 2020 Application Process:


There are two sections of the whole UPSC application process and the CAPF is no exception. Following are the steps below to fill out both parts:


CAPF Application Part 1:


On the official website, only the applicants will fill in the UPSC CAPF form. Following are the steps to fill in the UPSC CAPF online application: 


Visit the official website https://upsconline.nic.in/ and press on the button, online application for different UPSC exams.

  1. Clicking on the link should open a new page, select the UPSC CAPF examination, and start to fill out the application form. 
  2. Click on the "Click Here for Part-I" link provided under the registration tab Part-I.
  3. A page of instructions will appear on-screen by clicking on the above tab.
  4. Read and understand the instructions given and continue only when fully understood.


Clicking above will result in a CAPF application type (part-I) appearing on the screen. Registration in Part I includes personal information, as shown below:

  1. Name
  2. Gender
  3. Date of birth
  4. Nationality
  5. Marital status
  6. Parents’ names
  7. Email ID
  8. Postal address
  9. Educational qualifications, etc.

 

Application Fee:

 

The applicants must pay for the application fees after filling out the personal information in section 1. Note that there is no registration fee for women and SC and ST category applicants. 

For the group Specific and OBC, the registration fee is Rs 200.

 

Mode of Submitting Application Fee:

 

For the UPSC CAPF Exam, applicants can pay for the fee either in cash or via an online transaction. Below are the details:


Online mode: Applicants may pay the UPSC CAPF application fee online through any credit/debit card or online banking service. 


Offline mode: Applicants may also pay the fee in cash. During Part II enrollment, the applicant must print the process produced pay-in-slip and deposit the fee on the next working day at the SBI Branches counter.

 

CAPF Application Part 2:


  1. Applicants will click on the page "Click Here for Part II" available on UPSC's official website.
  2. A new page will show when you click on the link, where applicants have to enter their registration ID and birth date and click on the submit button. 
  3. CAPF's Part-II application will appear on the screen when you press the button. 
  4. Applicants must fill in the required fields and then click the "Submit" button.

 

CAPF exam test form is finally submitted after the submission of Part-II.


CAPF 2020 Admit Card:


The UPSC CAPF 2020 Admit Card will be published by the Union Public Service Commission on 22 July 2020. Applicants will be able to access the Assistant Commandant exam hall ticket by signing into the website with their registration number or roll number www.upsc.gov.in.


Salary Structure of CAPF:


The salary structure of CAPF is: 

  1. Basic Pay – Rs. 15600
  2. Grade Pay – Rs. 5400
  3. Dearness Allowance (DA) – Rs. 26250
  4. In-hand Salary – Rs. 44135
  5. Total – Rs. 51480

 

UPSC CAPF 2020 Selection Process: 

 

The UPSC CAPF Selection Process comprises three specific phases- the Written Exam, the Medical Examination, and the Interview / Personality Test. To be selected as Assistant Commandant, applicants must crack every step of the selection process.


Candidates must first appear in two sessions for the CAPF Exam, conducted in offline mode. Paper-I (objective) and Paper-II (subjective) are expected to appear on 18 August 2020. The total test time is 5 hours. The applicants who clear this stage to qualify for the next phase of the selection process for UPSC CAPF.

 

UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern & Syllabus:

 

The UPSC CAPF Exam pattern and syllabus is as follows:


Candidates have to appear in Two papers – General Skill and Intellect and General Education, Essay and Comprehension – will be selected through written examination.

 

Paper-1: General Ability and Intelligence (250 Marks):


  1. General Mental Ability
  2. General Science
  3. Current Events of National and International Importance
  4. Indian Polity and Economy
  5. History of India
  6. Indian and world geography


Paper-2: General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension (200 marks)


UPSC determines the CAPF review pattern in the notice to the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). The CAPF test is performed to appoint the Central Armed Forces Assistant Commandant, that involves the following:


  1. Border Security Forces (BSF)
  2. Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF)
  3. Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF)
  4. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
  5. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)


The CAPF exam of UPSC is conducted in three stages. These include the following:

  1. Written Test 
  2. Physical Standards / Physical Performance Test (PET) and Medical Test Interview 
  3. Personality Test

UPSC CAPF Cut Off 2020:

 

The cut-off from the CAPF 2020 announcement of the final CAPF outcome will be issued by the Union Public Service Commission. The CAPF cut off 2020 will be published by UPSC for three stages-paper 1, paper 1 & 2, and final. CAPF 2020 cut off is calculated based on the CAPF 2020 complexity level.


Candidates should remember that CAPF paper 2 eligible points are 25 percent or 50 marks for the General, OBC, SC and ST categories, whereas they are 10 percent or 20 marks out of 200 marks for ex-servicemen. For paper 1 and 2 candidates need to earn aggregate marks of 15 percent to qualify for the written examination.
