The RRB NTPC exam is conducted to select candidates for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC). These include both graduate and undergraduate posts which are available in different zones and production units of Indian Railways. Some of the posts under RRB NTPC are Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk and Traffic Assistant.
Exam dates have been delayed due to the corona pandemic, however as per latest RRB NTPC notification, exam dates will be announced after April 2020 and the exam will most probably take place at the end of the year.
Eligibility criteria is mainly based on age and education qualifications of candidates. The criteria are different for undergraduate and graduate posts.:
For undergraduate RRB NTPC posts (Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk and Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk):

Minimum age limit is 18 years, and maximum is 30 years
Educational Qualification:
Minimum educational qualification of 12th (+2 Stage) or its equivalent exam
For graduate RRB NTPC posts (Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accountant Assistant Cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master):

Age:
Minimum age limit is 18 years, and maximum is 33 years
Educational Qualification:
Minimum educational qualification of a university degree or its equivalent

Zonal RRB websites need to be visited to register for the exam. The procedure is simple, where you would have to fill in your details and verify your phone number and email ID. Application fees is Rs. 500 for general category candidates and Rs. 250 for
SC/ST/OBC/Females/Ex-Serviceman/Transgender/Minorities. Kindly save your details for further steps on the website.
RRB NTPC admit cards are usually issued 4 days prior to the exam. They will be available on the zonal RRB websites for downloading.

Minimum qualifying marks for CBT I and II for different categories is given below:
Candidates have to score a minimum of 42 marks in each battery test of CBAT in order to qualify the stage.
The RRB NTPC exam has 3 subjects- general awareness, mathematics and general intelligence and reasoning. Following is the syllabus for them:

CBT I:
This is a 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates accompanied with scribe) long test consisting of 100 MCQs. The subjects tested are general awareness, mathematics and general intelligence and reasoning. Each correct question scores +1 marks, and each incorrect one -0.3.

CBAT Test (For Traffic Assistant and Station Master only):
In Computer Based Aptitude Test, candidates are given different test batteries consisting of five-six tests as per the posts applied for. There is no negative marking involved.
Skills Test (For Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper):
Candidates are tested for the ability to type at least 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a computer.
