ECGC PO Exam Guide: All you need to know

ECGC PO exam is held at ECGC (formerly known also as Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India) for the appointment of probationary officers. It was established in 1957 with the motive of promoting exports from the country. It is a 100 percent Enterprise-owned government of India, thus ECGC PO Exam is a wonderful opportunity for applicants to train for competitive exams to obtain a government job.

Eligibility Criteria:


The eligibility criteria for ECGC Exam depends on the Nationality and age of an individual.

A candidate should be a citizen of:

  1. India
  2. Nepal
  3. Bhutan
  4. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st Jan 1962 with the intention to permanently settle in India.
  5. An individual of Indian origin who migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, Eastern African countries of Uganda, Kenya, United Republic of Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zaire, Zambia and Vietnam who has the intention to permanently settle in India.

The age limit of candidates applying for ECGC PO Exam should be:

  1. Minimum 20 years
  2. Maximum 30 years

Accounts

An associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (CA), Cost & Works Accountants Institute of India (ICWA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Legal

Bachelor of Law (LLB)/ Masters of Law (LLM)

Company Secretary

Associate person of the Indian Company Secretariats Institute (ACS).

Actuary

Student member of India's Institute of Actuaries having cleared at least 3 papers such as CT-1, CT-2, and CT-3.

IT

B Tech or BE in CS / IT or MCA with Cyber Security certificate course of at least 6 months period.

Economics

MA Economics of at least 55% for SC / ST and 60% for the others from an acknowledged University.

Commerce

M. Com. With at least 55 percent for SC / ST and 60 percent for others from a recognized university.

Generalist

Graduates from a recognized university in either stream with a minimum of 55 percent for SC / ST and 60 percent for others; OR Postgraduates with a minimum of 55 percent for SC / ST and 60 percent for others from a recognized University in any stream.

 

Total Vacancy:


The total number of vacancies for the exam will be released on the official portal of ECGC. Candidates should keep a check on the ECGC PO Exam Notification for the same. The expected vacancies for ECGC are around 25-35.


ECGC PO Exam Application Process:


The application process for the exam is held in an online mode. Before applying online, applicants must keep the following documents ready:

  1. Scanned photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm)
  2. Scanned signature (with black ink)
  3. Left thumb impression (black or blue inked on white paper)


Application Process:


Phase 1. Visit the official website of ECGC and go to Careers Page, then click on the link "Apply Online." 

Phase 2. Click on the button at the top right corner "Click here for New Registration." 

Phase 3. Proceed. It will guide you to a new tab. Properly read the instructions, and click on "Continue."

Phase 4. An application form will be presented. Fill out all your personal, technical, educational information here. Update Form and Save it. 

Phase 5. Upload Images and Signatures. 

Phase 6. Click Send and Make Payment.


Note that the application fees for SC/ST/PwD candidates is Rs. 100 while for others it is Rs. 600.



Admit Card:


The ECGC PO Online Examination admit card will be made accessible 10-15 days before the date of the exam. The admission card is available for download on the official site.


Salary Structure:


ECGC PO is regarded as a very valuable post, provided that it is the first step in the ladder to fulfill the tenure as an ECGC officer. The starting pay of an ECGC PO is Rs. 17240/- and can be up to Rs. 17240 – 38,500/- The final ECGC PO salary includes benefits like HRA, DA, etc. An ECGC PO also earns a 17-18 percent annual rise.
