    • Towards the end of ww1 there was significant inflation of essential items , unemployment rose there was wide spread scarcity of food and clothing ,since most of it were being exported for supplies to soldiers fighting in Europe . At the same time with Lucknow pact and home rule league movement there was great vigour in nationalist movement. The Brits convinced moderates representation with GoI act 1919 and the same time enacted rowlact act to control any dissention and curb nationalist movement.
