Is TV and radio production necessary? Advertisements and Shows. YES!!! Have you ever seen a live game from your hometown team on YouTube? Would you mind watching TV if that was the quality of most shows? I doubt. I mean no disrespect to the film community because they usually do not have the resources to make high quality production. Even TV news has a large group of people to edit, record VO, control the camera, create and control the graphics, specific events, camera changes and audio. And it takes a village for that. Radios usually require a few operators, but without good manufacturing, most people won't think about installing it. How about music on the radio. It's not unusual for a song to take several days to record and mix. Absolutely necessary. - Study24x7
