What is technical writing? Technical writing is a complex technical process that is difficult to understand. It falls under the broad umbrella of technical communication, a branch of business communication. According to the Society for Technical Communication (STC) - a trade association - 'technical communication' is any form of communication that ticks the following boxes: Communicate in technical or specialized matters It is done through the use of certain types of technology such as web pages, social media, etc. Provide instruction to a specific audience through technical content. Compared to most forms of writing, art creates a more targeted audience. STEM fields such as computer science/information technology, engineering, biochemistry, health sciences, physics, and finance have a strong need for technical communications. This type of writing can serve a variety of purposes, including but not limited to: Explain the process unambiguously Explain how to use the equipment/machine Discuss the search results Analyze trends and predict outcomes Technical documentation, videos and other content, which are products of this type of article, take many forms and forms, such as user manuals, articles, FAQs, wiki pages, etc. (we will talk about it later). There is no universal style guide for technical writing. The structure, style, tone, and level of difficulty depend on the organization or content creator and the audience.
